Dinosaur VS a Can of Vernors Barrel aged Ginger Ale

Whenever I enjoy a nice refreshing can of Vernors Ginger Ale, I think of 2 people: the one who introduced me to it, and the one who mocked me for drinking it.  One has fond memories of it, the other thinks it is only fit for octogenarians.  I personally enjoy it.  So Paul and Bill, this one is dedicated to you.

The Journey Begins...

I have been following the daily paintings of such artists as Julian Merrow- Smith and Duane Keiser, and have found inspiration in their works and their ability to paint everyday.  I was thinking the other day that I had no projects and hadn't picked up a brush in quite a while.  This was bad.  So I decided I would start my own journey.  I know I am lazy and cannot commit to everyday, but I decided I would give it a try.  My goal is at least once a week.  I figure some weeks there will be more than one, and if history repeats itself, there will be a couple weeks of silence.
So what to paint?  Those artists listed above are waaay better at still lifes than me, and most of the fruit I eat is out of a can :).  So what unique quality can I offer the art community?  Quirkiness with a side of borderline insanity, and access to a lot of toys.  So here it is, my inspiration:
Luckily, he has 2 faces to add variety.  This one will be on happier days.
I needed some kind of control to compare my improving talent and he seemed as good a one as any.  In this journey you will see his adventures in painting form.  We will call it "Dinosaur VS".  I have many a plans for this little fella, and I am way excited about this.  Probably a little too excited....
